The Dig Local Network Green Markets, Gardens & Community Outreach Education is unique in that it is a non-profit, run by an all-volunteer board of community members.
We are a positive impact on the community! We believe that community gardens, farmers’ markets, and nutrition education are sustainable routes to a future where everyone can eat better. We think access to good nutritious food is a human right regardless of a person’s location or economic level. In January of 2015, Dig Local, Inc and Beaches Local Food Network joined forces to better serve the community at large with their shared visions of providing access to sustainably grown and local food. This united grassroots effort to change the modern food system has resulted in multiple community gardens, farmers’ markets, and education programs for children and adults. Together, as Dig Local Network, we strive to connect people to better food. If you believe the same, we need you! Please contact us at info@diglocal.org to join us.
Only the
best, award-winning foods – with friends!
Today, the Beaches Green Market in Neptune Beach and the
Midweek Market in Atlantic Beach stand out due to its highly curated selection
of fresh, seasonal, local produce and artisan foods, as well as its friendly
feeling.
“We curate like a Fine arts gallery,” says board president JoAnn Wallace. “We seek out handmade, unique, and outstanding local farmers and artisans, like Juicy Roots Farm & Homestead, Kravey Gardens, Anne’s Kitchen, Ferra Bakery, Lola Farms, Happy Hippy – Wellness Products, Jaxma Orchids, Verdes Rice Bowls, and many that bring something special items to the Green Market. Then we create a friendly community atmosphere where people who love to shop for healthier options, cook fresh meals and eat can come together on a weekly basis. Friends are always being made at both of our Markets!”
While Dig Local Network Green Markets remain true to its roots and mission of connecting people to better food and a sustainable place for farmers and artisans to sell their foods, it has evolved to meet changing needs, adding to it prepared foods selection, expanding its foot print to enable more food and more fun.
